Frequently Asked Questions (Pet Sitting)

Can we request a specific caregiver?

Yes! You're welcome to request a specific caregiver. We'll do our best to accommodate based on area and availability.

When is payment due?

Payment is due at the time of booking to secure your pup’s spot. More details are outlined in the service agreement provided.

How many updates does your team provide?

As many or as few as you'd like—just let us know your preference. Update times may vary, but you'll always stay informed.

What areas are covered?

Private Adventure Walks with Julien: South Surrey, within 30 minute transit access from 148th & King George.

Shia - Weekdays (except Monday evenings) in New Westminster & surrounding areas within a 45-minute drive.

What if my pet gets stick or injured during the visit?

We will contact you immediately and follow your instructions. We’re fully insured and request vet info and emergency care preferences in your intake form.

Do you offer meet and greets?

Yes. We encourage meet & greets (in person or virtual) to ensure we understand your pet's needs (some travel fees may apply.)

What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Are there additional fees for holidays?

Yes, there is a +$10 surcharge for services during holidays and peak periods. Additional premium dates may be designated with prior notice.

Can we request off-leash walks?

Yes, for pets who’ve passed an assessment. Off-leash is only available for long-term stays. On-leash and off-leash adventure walks can also be added for an additional fee.

Frequently Asked Questions (Adventure Walks)

What’s the difference between Adventure Walks and Focus Walks?

Adventure Walks are tailored outings designed for dogs of all types. They include basic enrichment and outdoor exploration, providing exercise and fun in a more relaxed, flexible setting.
Focus Walks are slower-paced, personalized sessions with specific mental stimulation exercises, ideal for dogs needing extra confidence-building or more specific behavioral support!

When is payment due?

Payment is due at the time of booking to secure your pup’s spot. More details are outlined in the service agreement provided.

Will walks ever be rescheduled or canceled by the walker?

Occasionally, walks may be rescheduled due to:

Walker illness
Accessibility needs
Travel for pet sitting services
We will notify you as early as possible if any changes are needed.
Group walks may also be canceled due to extreme weather or trail safety concerns.

What areas are covered?

Can I add adventure walks to my overnight bookings?

Absolutely! If your pet is staying with us for live-in care, you can add up to 2 adventures per week (off leash privilege is only available for long-term stays only)

Adventures are available within 5 km from your home.
Pets must be comfortable riding in a car.
Adventures can be either on-leash or off-leash depending on safety assessments.

Can I book both Adventure and Focus Walks?

Yes! We can combine both walk types to meet your dog's needs, whether it's a mix of exercise and training, or something more specific. Feel free to chat with us about customizing the perfect walk for your pup!

What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?

We understand that plans can change!

Reschedules: You can reschedule up to 2x per month with 48+ hours’ notice at no cost.
- Within 24–48 hours: 50% of the walk fee is charged.
- Less than 24 hours: Full walk fee is charged.
Cancellations:
- 5+ days in advance: Full credit issued.
- Less than 5 days: No credit, but you may reschedule within the same week.
- Failure to cancel or reschedule on time: Full payment is forfeited.
Credit Policy: Credits are valid for 6 months from the original cancellation date, are non-transferable, and must be used by the same client.

Are there additional fees for holidays?

Yes, there is a +$10 surcharge for services during holidays and peak periods. Additional premium dates may be designated with prior notice.

Can we request off-leash walks?

Yes! Off-leash time is available only with owner consent and after a recall and safety assessment. We are not liable for any incidents during off-leash time.

Are group walks offered?

Yes, we are accepting intakes for summer walks.

In what areas are Focus Walks offered?

Services are available to areas within 10km of South Surrey. Please feel free to contact me to discuss availability and whether I can accommodate your request.

Which types of dogs can benefit from these walks?

These sessions are ideal for:

Dogs in training or needing extra support

Dogs with anxiety, fear, or nervousness

Senior or special needs pups

Dogs who need help with specific behaviors (e.g., leash pulling, socialization)

Puppies or older pups needing new skills

Do I need to be present for my dog's walks?

Some dogs may feel more comfortable with their pawrents present, while others may benefit from their pawrents staying away to reduce anxiety.

Ideally, it's not necessary for you to stay during the session, but please let me know if accommodations are needed, especially for the first session.

Do you tailor the walks to my dog's needs?

Each session is customized based on your dog’s behavior, training goals, and challenges.

I will adjust the session according to how your dog is feeling and progressing, ensuring that the session is beneficial and comfortable for them.

How long are the walks?

Sessions typically range from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your dog’s needs and comfort level. While the timing is flexible, you’ll be charged based on the selected session length (30 or 60 minutes). If the session finishes earlier, we ensure your dog still receives the full experience within that time frame.
