Trauma-Informed Support Sessions

General Tailored Support Sessions

For dogs of all ages and temperaments, with a special focus on:

  • Puppies adjusting to new environments
  • Senior dogs needing extra patience and care
  • Anxious, reactive, or sensitive dogs who struggle with everyday challenges

These sessions provide structured, personalized care to build trust and foster lasting behavioral change.

Equally important is showing compassion for both your pup and you. Training only works when you can put it into practice in daily life, which is why I focus on understanding your dog's needs while guiding and supporting you as a pet parent. That is why I focus on helping you:

  • Build consistent routines that fit your lifestyle
  • Apply training strategies in real-world situations
  • Gain confidence in managing challenges with patience and clarity
  • Supporting your well-being and providing reassurance throughout the process

I start with a thorough, cautious but intentional observation to understand your dog's unique needs, temperament, and environment. From there, I create a tailored, detailed training plan designed to support gradual, positive progress. I provide guided homework to reinforce learning between sessions, helping you and your pup build confidence, consistency, and long-term success. The plan may be adjusted as needed based on your dog's progress, energy, or comfort level, as well as your schedule and lifestyle, ensuring a realistic, effective, and supportive approach, especially for anxious or reactive pups or when working on multiple training goals.

An optional, in-depth guide can be added to help pet parents put training into action, feel confident, and stay supported after behavioral sessions.

Not ready for in-person sessions? No problem! You can start with just the personalized behavioral guide. It gives you tips, strategies, and step-by-step support so you can make progress at your own pace-right from home.

NEW: Trial Program – Prep for & Helping Dogs & Cats Stay Calm at the Vet 🩺

Vet visits can be stressful for both pets and their humans. I’ve seen many pet parents wish for gentler, more supportive experiences, especially when Fear-Free clinics or specialized vets aren’t accessible.

This small trial program is designed to bridge that gap and provide focused support where it’s needed most. I’m looking for a few pet parents interested in giving it a try!

What’s included:

  • Gentle prep for appointments – handling, touch desensitization, carriers, and car acclimation
  • Day-of guidance – tailored advice to help your pet stay calm throughout the visit
  • Positive muzzle introduction and acclimation (muzzles not provided)
  • Companion support option – I can be with your pet during visits for extra comfort and guidance (small extra fee during trial)
  • Tips for managing fear or reactivity
  • Guidance for you at home – feel confident helping your pets beyond the appointment

This program will be offered as a structured package, including an initial assessment. Additional sessions can be added as needed.

I’m also building a small list of trusted vets, so I can recommend the best options for your pets. The goal is a seamless experience, whether or not I’m present on the day (likely not if you choose another Fear-Free professional).

My Approach

I intregrate evidence-based, rewards-based training methods, combined with extensive hands-on experience and my neurodivergent perspective. This allows me to understand and respond to the needs of both dogs and their humans, especially when supporting anxiety, reactivity, and sensitive behaviors.

I take the extra time to break down training concepts and plans into clear, manageable steps, tailoring my approach to each client's learning style, pace, and needs. This includes supporting neurodivergent learners or anyone who benefits from structured, step-by-step guidance. My aim is to make training accessible, understandable, and achievable, helping both dogs and their humans build confidence, consistency, and long-term success.

I am also happy to collaborate with other professionals, such as behavioral veterinarians, pain therapists, or trainers. Working together does not take away from the support I provide; it enhances it, ensuring your dog gets the most comprehensive care possible.

For training, I offer both full hourly sessions as well as Calm Starts for dogs who may get overstimulated or reach their threshold quickly. All clients are required to have an assessment prior to beginning training sessions

Both virtual and in-person support are available to meet you and your dog where you are.
